Telehealth - Massachusetts, Plymouth, MA
CMHC-I

About Me: Hello! I’m Emily Macdonald, a Mental Health Counselor Intern pursuing my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. With a Bachelor’s in Psychology and a passion for supporting others, I’m excited to begin this meaningful work alongside my clients.

My Approach: I believe therapy is most effective when it’s collaborative, trusting, and goal-oriented. Together, we’ll create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you feel empowered to explore your experiences and work toward meaningful change. My approach is rooted in solution-focused therapycognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and motivational interviewing (MI), which I tailor to fit your unique needs. Whether you’re navigating life transitions, seeking personal growth, or addressing specific challenges, I’ll help you clarify your goals and develop practical steps to achieve them.

What to Expect:

  • Warmth and empathy – I prioritize building a strong therapeutic relationship based on trust and understanding.
  • Active collaboration – You are the expert of your own life; my role is to listen, guide, and support you.
  • Gentle challenges – Growth often happens outside our comfort zones—I’ll encourage you with compassion as you progress.

Taking the first step toward therapy can feel vulnerable, and I honor your courage in being here. If you’re ready to explore how counseling can support your journey, I’d love to connect.
