Amanda Prashad
My name is Amanda Prashad, and I recently relocated from San Antonio, TX, to Everett, WA. Originally, I hail from Punta Gorda, FL, where my friends and family still reside. I am currently pursuing my MS graduate degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Capella University, with aspirations to continue my studies toward a PsyD or PhD. My ultimate goal is to become a licensed psychologist, specializing in helping individuals and families navigate life’s challenges.
I bring over five years of professional experience as a Case Manager, QMHP, and now a Mental Health Therapist. My educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Forensic Science with a minor in Psychology from the University of Maryland. My career began in crime scene technology in Hampton, Virginia, in 2019, where I developed a meticulous eye for detail and problem-solving. However, I soon discovered a deeper passion for mental health and helping others achieve emotional well-being.
In my current role, I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, PTSD, bipolar disorder, trauma, and marriage and family dynamics. My strengths lie in implementing tailored therapeutic interventions, fostering a safe and supportive environment, and empowering clients to take charge of their mental health journey. I am particularly skilled in helping individuals process trauma, navigate family challenges, and develop effective coping strategies for anxiety and depression. My approach is rooted in empathy, evidence-based practices, and a genuine commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of others.
Outside of my clinical work, I own a small photography business, which has been a creative outlet for the past five years. My passion for photography stems from my earlier work in forensics, where I honed my ability to capture meaningful moments with precision and care.
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time at home with my two beloved dogs: Nash, a five-year-old German shepherd, and Goose, a two-year-old golden retriever. I’m a homebody at heart, often binge-watching shows and indulging in Chipotle. At the same time, I have a love for travel and exploration. In May 2023, I visited London, Paris, and Switzerland, and this year, I have my sights set on Greece!
With a balance of dedication, creativity, and compassion, I strive to make a meaningful impact in the mental health field while continuing to grow personally and professionally.
