Hello, my name is Diana Rodriguez Mansfield. I am pursuing my Master of Social Work degree at Western New Mexico University. Before beginning my journey in mental health, I spent three years as an elementary school teacher. That experience sparked a deeper passion for supporting individuals beyond the classroom, specifically in their mental health and emotional well-being.
While completing my graduate studies, I worked at an intensive outpatient treatment center focused on supporting both youth and adults with various anxiety disorders. Through this work, I developed a strong passion for helping individuals build resilience, improve emotional regulation, and develop healthy coping strategies. I have experience in group therapy, supporting individuals in managing intrusive thoughts, reducing anxiety, and regaining a sense of control in their daily lives.
I am experienced in evidence-based approaches, particularly Exposure Response Prevention therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills. I use DBT skills specifically to help clients regulate intense emotions, enhance relationships, and navigate life’s challenges. My approach is rooted in mindfulness and behavioral strategies, focusing on emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and effective communication.
As a counselor, my goal is to cultivate a safe and supportive environment that nurtures a therapeutic relationship grounded in trust, empathy, and mutual respect. Within this space, clients are empowered to openly explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences without fear of judgment. I strive to help individuals confront their fears, embrace their strengths, and create meaningful, positive, and lasting change in their lives.
Whether I work with youth or adults, I bring warmth, patience, empathy, and a collaborative spirit to every session. My goal is to empower you to face your fears, embrace your strengths, and create meaningful, lasting change.
