Before sharing her professional background, McKell would like you to know a little about herself beyond her professional role. McKell enjoys spending time in nature, hiking, traveling, and being with her husband and two adorable parakeets. She has a strong passion for helping others feel supported and find hope and healing. McKell earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and is currently pursuing her Master’s of Social Work at the University of West Florida.
A modality McKell is certified in and enjoys using is Mental Emotional Release (MER). MER is a timeline-based approach that helps identify and release the root of unresolved emotions or negative beliefs. She also incorporates techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, reframing, etc. Using these tools, McKell works collaboratively with each client to create a plan tailored to their unique needs and preferences.
McKell has had the opportunity to work with a wide range of individuals–including children, youth, and adults–supporting them in working toward their goals and taking meaningful steps toward healing. Across these roles, she has the most experience helping youth and adults who are encountering anxiety, hopelessness, a sense of not belonging, or are seeking positive change in their lives.
Her goal in working with clients is to help them feel heard, empowered, and experience greater happiness. McKell strives to meet clients where they are at and support them in discovering that change and healing are truly possible.
