Born and raised in Salt Lake City, Claire is currently a Master of Social Work intern from the University of Utah. Claire believes strongly in the innate worth and infinite potential present in all humans and believes that therapy should be a place without judgment where the client feels completely safe, seen, and supported as they take the steps to lead a life more in alignment with their values and desires. Her approach is client-centered, collaborative, and strengths-based, founded on the belief that each individual is the expert in their own life.

Claire’s work is grounded in empathy, mindfulness, and enhancing emotional regulation and is trauma-informed. She specializes in working with children, teens, young adults, and their families as they navigate issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, suicidal ideation and self-harm,  lack of motivation, life transitions, as well as attachment and relationship struggles. She has extensive experience working with students and parents in a high school setting, helping individuals to overcome their emotional and situational obstacles to improve their school performance and well-being. She has a deep respect for the therapeutic relationship, as it is one of the most important elements of the healing process, and values connecting with clients in an authentic, compassionate manner.

Claire holds a B.S. in Sociology from Brigham Young University, where she gained a deep understanding of how systems and social contexts shape the individual experience and mental health. With this foundation, she centers her work on principles of social justice advocacy, intersectionality, and empowerment. She has a special place in her heart for LGBTQ+ and neurodiverse youth, as she has spent the last 3 years working with and supporting these populations as both a student support advocate for high school students and as a social work intern at Encircle. Claire also has experience helping children and parents who are navigating the child welfare system to overcome trauma, forge a healthy attachment style, and strengthen positive parenting and family relationships. Claire is committed to providing compassionate, holistic, and evidence-based care to help every client feel empowered and understood.
