University of Health Sciences, and a master's degree in nursing (family

Hola! I’m Marco Rudas-Garcia, MSN, RN—a compassionate nurse, advocate, and lifelong learner dedicated to blending clinical expertise with human connection. With a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the University of Utah and a Master’s in Nursing from Gonzaga University, I bring both rigorous training and heartfelt empathy to every patient interaction.
My journey has taken me from surgical trauma units to psychiatric care, and from supporting developmentally delayed individuals with mental illness to serving veterans at the VA Hospital in Salt Lake City. These experiences have shaped my trauma-informed approach and reinforced my belief that healing starts with dignity, trust, and collaboration. I am licensed in UT, WA and OR.
How I Can Support You:
Trauma & PTSD: Evidence-based strategies to reclaim safety and resilience.
Anxiety & Depression: Personalized care that honors your unique story.
LGBTQIA2S+ Affirming Care: A safe, inclusive space to be your authentic self.
Online Opioid Addiction Treatment (MAT): Judgment-free support for recovery and wellness.
Fluent in Spanish, I’m deeply committed to culturally sensitive care—especially for marginalized communities often left behind by the system. My philosophy? You’re the expert on your life; I’m here to listen, guide, and empower you—not just treat symptoms.
Outside of work, I recharge by coaching sports, exploring Utah’s wild landscapes, and hitting the road with my family (because joy is its own kind of medicine).

We as people tend to become comfortable with behaviors that make us uncomfortable. Typically, we're drawn to the easy and familiar instead of things that might be good for us. This is where anxiety, depression, trauma and addiction thrive. If you're reading this, you have already taken the first step toward becoming a better, more confident, and more satisfied version of yourself.
Talk therapy is great and it helps a lot of people, but I try to take it a step further. I use psychoeducation to help you understand where your issues are stemming from and why you are feeling the way you are. Together, we will create a plan to get you comfortable with the best version of you that you can be.

Often times in conversations about what we learn in therapy, we shortchange ourselves by thinking that coping skills are about as good as it gets. While learning coping skills is crucial for mental health, I know that therapy also has the power to create meaningful changes and healing that extend well beyond the limits of mere coping skills and behavioral modification. Each of us possesses an innate ability to grow and to creatively meet the demands of life.

I believe there is a space for everyone in therapy. No matter what
challenge you are facing, you have a place in counseling. I am a
supporter of awareness, acceptance, and different perceptions. There is
much power in those tools and understanding them. Bring who you are to
therapy, and I will help in every way possible to get you to a place of
healing, self-love, and the discovery of the power of mental health.
There is something to be said about struggle and what it does to a
person, what it makes a person. With the correct tools, struggle does
not have to define you. It is absolutely possible to break free of those
chains that bind us to difficulties and the trauma that happens in
life.
I have a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education and have worked with
children for many years as a teacher and an intern therapist. I have my
Master’s in Clinical Mental Health and during my internship, worked with
a vast array of clientele with many different struggles and modalities.
I am passionate about working with trauma, bullying issues with
children, sexual issues in relationships, the LGBTQ+ community, faith
crisis/transitions, and self-esteem/confidence issues using mirror work
as a tool. My favorite modality is Acceptance and Commitment therapy.
I love sports, especially baseball. I have a 1965 Ford Mustang that I love to take out for drives. I love to camp and fish and if I could do it for a living, I
would! I love to bake. I usually make baked goods, take a bite, and
then give it all away because I cannot eat all that sugar! I always have
music playing and love to dance, which I feel can be very healing.
Exercise is so good for my mind and many times during sessions with
clients, going for a walk while talking can be good for the soul. A
sense of humor never hurt either! Lastly, I honor the courage it takes
to seek out assistance and I am privileged to be a part of your journey

Pain and emotional suffering that comes at you from all facets of life
at times can be too difficult to bear. Sometimes depression can be too
heavy, leaving you feeling like there is no hope. Pervasive worry and

are. Abuse in any form can take center stage of your life, seemingly to
impact each feeling, thought, and action. The memories from the past can

to come. Even though most people experience pain and suffering of these
things from time to time, it is not meant to last forever.

I am a licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CMHC) and EMDR therapist who works with most mental health conditions including depression, anxiety, and complex trauma and relational wounds. I aim to support those who have experienced various types of challenges including grief, divorce, sexual trauma, chronic stress, attachment trauma, major life changes, or painful relationship patterns, helping clients make sense of how past experiences continue to shape present-day emotions, relationships, and self-beliefs.
My approach is collaborative, and I prioritize building a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship where healing can unfold at a pace that feels respectful and empowering. In my mind, the ideal client is a person who has recognized that some aspect of their life is no longer working for them. That person wants help to get their life back on track. I enjoy helping a variety of clientele, including couples and individuals. People who seek out a counselor to validate the fact that change is necessary, and desire professional help to collaborate in identifying their natural strengths (or at least potential capabilities), who are working towards overcoming difficulties, and are goal-oriented, are people I'm excited to work with. I hope that my warm and inviting office atmosphere and my upbeat personality can help.
Individual work, as well as working with couples, young adults, and parent/child relationships, are my main areas of focus. I specifically address the problems in communication with others and personal negative talk. It is key to how we perceive, react, and direct our behaviors.

I then went to Touro Worldwide University and also Northcentral University to get my two Masters degrees; one in Master's of Psychology in August 2017 and the other in Marriage and Family Therapy in October 2019. I love being able to help anyone willing to place their trust in me with the mental health issues that they are currently experiencing. I'm a Master’s-level clinician currently completing my degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of the Cumberlands. I work with children, individuals, and couples navigating trauma, attachment concerns, anxiety, and relationship challenges.
Using an Internal Family Systems (IFS) informed and trauma-informed approach, I help clients understand how past experiences shape present patterns. I collaborate with clients to build emotional safety, self-compassion, and resilience, supporting meaningful and lasting change.
In my work with couples, I focus on strengthening communication, deepening emotional attunement, and helping partners move from reactive cycles toward more secure and connected relationships. My approach is warm, relational, and grounded, and I'm committed to creating a space where clients feel seen, supported, and empowered to grow.

I offer a calming space of peace, support, and compassion for your struggle. I believe you are a deep, complex being with many moving parts that influence your perspective and life experiences. You are not broken, you are human! And though healing is often painful and messy, it is real. It takes courage to confront your issues, and here you are ready to take a look. Good for you!
I use a holistic, individualized therapeutic approach to address your unique needs based on your sense of meaning, culture, and values. If you don't know what your sense of meaning is, we can explore that together! Come as you are. Therapy is not one-sided, but a space of co-creation. Our relationship and trust in one another will allow the potential for insight and growth experiences for both of us. Together we can find a clearing through curiosity, creativity, and humor. This will lead the way to cultivating who you want to be and the life you want to live.
How can you live more fully based on your own values and sense of meaning? How can you feel more peace and levity in your day-to-day? I will work with you at your own pace, and I will challenge you in manageable ways to help you reach your goals. I am available for a free 15-minute chat to see if we are a good fit before you commit to a full session. I look forward to meeting you and would be honored to collaborate with you on your unique journey. Thank you for taking the time to connect!
