Hello, my name is Ammon. I am excited to be in the final stages of finishing my Master's degree in Social Work at Utah Valley University. I have worked and interned for the Department of Workforce Services, a youth crisis center, and the public service industry for many years. Throughout those years, I have gained valuable experience and insight into supporting individuals, youth, and families as they navigate difficult circumstances.
My goal is to create a safe and supportive space where we can lay all the cards out on the table, organize them, and determine the best way forward. I integrate skills from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Solution-Focused Therapy to help us explore concerns, recognize strengths, and identify practical solutions. From there, we will work together to turn those steps into a more playable and, hopefully, winning hand.
My approach is compassionate and grounded in evidence-based practices. I have experience supporting people who have been affected by trauma, anxiety, and depression, as well as working with children, adolescents, and family challenges. I have a strong hope and desire for this work and for building a therapeutic relationship based on trust, active listening, empathy, and respect. Wherever you are on your journey, I am happy to meet you there as you take your next steps forward.
