In my mind, the ideal client a person who has identified that some aspect of their life has stopped working for them. That person wants the help to make their life back to a working order. I enjoy helping with a variety of clientele, couples, and individuals. People who seek out a counselor to validate the fact that change is necessary, and desire professional help to collaborate in identifying their own natural strengths (or at least potential capabilities) towards overcoming difficulties seem to be very goal oriented. These people are exciting to work with. My hope is that my warm and inviting office atmosphere and my own upbeat personality.

She specializes in the following areas:

Individual work, as well as working with couples, young adults, and parent/child relationships are my main areas of focus. I specifically address the problems in communication with others and personal negative talk. It is key to how we perceive, react, and direct our own behaviors.

Bio:

I am a wife for the last 26 years, a mother to three grown children. A daughter who is married and has two little boys (my grandchildren), my second daughter is applying to nursing school at UVU, and my son who is an Air Force National Guard in the Security Forces. He will be getting married in August 2021. I have two dogs that I just love. I live in Provo, and currently work at Provo Canyon Behavioral Hospital during the day as the adolescence therapist. I was a police officer at the Utah State Hospital for 5 years. I finished up my undergraduate degree from UVU in Psychology May 2015. I then went to Touro Worldwide University and also Northcentral University to get my two Masters degrees; one in Master's of Psychology August 2017 and the other in Marriage and Family Therapy in October 2019 I love being able to help any one that is willing to place their trust in me with the mental health issues that they are currently experiencing. I like to explore new places and I would love to travel one day with my husband. I have many hobbies that keep me busy, Cross-stitch, needlepoint, Quilting, Applique, Knitting, Crotchet, scrap booking, and the number one thing that I love to do is be with my grandsons. Sometimes it can be hard to get my hobbies in with work and then taking on my second job here. However, this has all been worth the time and learning I have gained over the last few years.
