Kaelan comes with a background of working in schools, hospitals, and higher care settings. She worked with the mentally ill and those in mental health crises, with an extensive background in suicide work. Kaelan graduated with Honors from Utah Valley University with a Bachelor's of social work. She continued her education at the University of Utah, graduating with high honors in the Master of Social Work program. She values education and has taken the approach that learning is continual, and often takes place outside of the traditional classroom.
She believes that each client is the expert in their own lives and recognizes that the opportunity to learn is critical in development. Therapeutic work should be collaborative, and that can only be done when all parties are ready. Kaelan takes a motivational approach with the belief that eventually pain will subside, and we get to decide what will take its place.
Therapy can be uncomfortable, but it should be embraced as we make changes for growth, find value through the difficult experiences, and peace in collaboration. Kaelan currently works with children, adolescents, young adults, and adults.
