Kaya is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate who earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Catawba College. With more than five years of experience in the mental health field, Kaya brings a thoughtful, compassionate, and empowering approach to her work with clients.
Kaya believes that a strong therapeutic relationship is at the heart of meaningful change. She strives to create a supportive and welcoming environment where clients feel heard, understood, and comfortable exploring the challenges they are facing. Her approach is grounded in empathy, insight, flexibility, and genuine collaboration, allowing therapy to be tailored to each client’s individual needs, experiences, and goals.
Kaya’s therapeutic framework emphasizes personal growth, responsibility, and empowerment. She helps clients recognize the areas of life they can influence, develop practical tools for navigating challenges, and build greater confidence in their ability to make meaningful changes. She also incorporates the exploration of purpose, values, and meaning to help clients develop a stronger sense of direction and create a life that feels more authentic and fulfilling.
Kaya particularly enjoys working with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, difficulty with confidence or self-advocacy, and challenges related to personal empowerment. She works collaboratively with clients to identify patterns that may be keeping them stuck, strengthen healthy coping and communication skills, and develop a more balanced and compassionate understanding of themselves.
Above all, Kaya wants clients to recognize their own strengths and capacity for growth. Her goal is to provide both the support and practical tools clients need to feel more confident, capable, and intentional in the way they approach their lives and relationships.
