A focus area in therapy that helps people understand their anger and respond to it in ways that fit their values.

Anger management is not about getting rid of anger. Anger is a normal emotion that often points to something that matters. The work in therapy is to understand what is underneath the anger, recognize early warning signs in the body and mind, and respond in ways that fit the person's values and protect important relationships.
