Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
A therapy that helps people make room for difficult thoughts and feelings while taking action toward what matters most to them.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, or ACT, helps people relate differently to difficult inner experiences. Rather than trying to argue thoughts away or push feelings down, the work is to make space for them while moving toward chosen values. Skills include mindfulness, defusion (creating distance from sticky thoughts), and committed action—small, doable steps toward the kind of life the client wants to build.
