Depression

A mental health concern marked by persistent low mood, loss of interest, and changes in energy, sleep, or appetite.

Depression is more than a passing low mood. It can show up as ongoing sadness, loss of interest in things that usually feel good, low energy, changes in sleep or appetite, harsh self-talk, and difficulty concentrating. It can be mild and time-limited or more severe and lasting. Therapy, support, and sometimes medication (managed by a medical provider) can all play a role in feeling better.
