Treatment Modalities

Exposure Therapy

A therapy approach that supports facing feared situations or memories in a gradual, structured way.

Exposure therapy is a structured way of facing things that feel scary or overwhelming. With a therapist's support, the client moves toward the feared situation, image, or sensation in small, planned steps, often building up a 'ladder' from less to more challenging. Over time, the nervous system learns that the feared thing is more manageable than it felt, which can ease anxiety, panic, phobias, OCD, and trauma reactions.
