Anxiety

An everyday word for feelings of worry, nervousness, or unease that can range from mild to overwhelming.

Anxiety is a common human experience: a mix of worry, tension, and bodily 'on-edge' feelings that can show up in response to real or anticipated stress. It becomes a clinical concern when it is frequent, intense, or interferes with daily life. Therapy can help by building skills to manage worry, work with the body's stress response, and respond to feared situations more flexibly.
