Internal Family Systems
A therapy model that views the mind as made up of many parts, and helps the person relate to those parts with curiosity and care.
Internal Family Systems, or IFS, is a therapy model that views the mind as made up of many parts, each with its own perspective and role. Some parts protect, some carry pain, and a calm, curious 'core self' can lead the system. In IFS, the therapist helps the client get to know these parts with respect rather than fight them, which often softens long-standing patterns and helps difficult feelings settle.
