Psychologist

A clinician with a doctoral degree in psychology, often involved in therapy, assessment, and testing.

A psychologist is a clinician who has earned a doctoral degree in psychology (PhD, PsyD, or EdD) and completed the supervised training and licensing required to practice. Psychologists often provide therapy and may also perform formal assessments and psychological testing. They generally do not prescribe medication, except in a few states with specific authority.
