EMDR

EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, a structured therapy approach often used to help process trauma and distressing memories.

EMDR is a structured therapy approach designed to help the brain process distressing memories. Across a series of phases, a trained clinician guides the client through brief sets of attention tasks (such as eye movements or tapping) while focusing on a target memory and the beliefs and feelings tied to it. Many people use EMDR for trauma, but it is also used with anxiety, grief, and other concerns. The pace is set with safety and stability in mind.
